Fall Students
Fall Students will be covered by OUC liability insurance from their first class in the Fall, until the end of the following year, December 31. That’s coverage for up to 1 .1/4 years.
Registering with OUC
For ALL Student Members:
- Use the Excel Spreadsheet: Be sure to send in the names of all your Student Members on the Excel membership submission spreadsheet before their first class. We need to know who they are, and record them for insurance coverage, before their class starts.
OUC Payment Date
For ALL Student Members:
- Pay immediately after the first class of their scuba course.
- This now applies to all Student Members, even Fall Students.
Coverage
- When you pay for your Fall Students in the Fall when they start their class, they will continue to be covered for OUC liability insurance until December 31 of the following year.
- That’s over 1 year of coverage at no additional fee.
Drop Outs:

If a Student Member drops out, or does not continue to complete their open water certification, their OUC membership status will remain “Student Member” until the end of their insurance coverage period so that your club is covered should they raise a complaint later.
Fall Student Example:

Fall 2026 Students: Submit your Student Members names and pay for them in the Fall. They have OUC insurance coverage from Fall 2026 when they start their scuba course until Dec. 31, 2027 at no additional fee.
- Starting in the Fall of 2026, Clubs will pay for their Fall Student Members immediately after their first class and will not pay again in following year. This is the same payment process as with all Student Members. However, the coverage for Fall 2026 Student Members continues into the following year, until Dec. 31, 2027, at no additional fee in 2027.
